System Description

OIT provides e-mail accounts and Internet access for all students, staff, and faculty at the University of Minnesota. These centrally provided and maintained accounts are automatically created for individuals based on their U of M registration and employment status. Disruption in service may affect users attempting to connect to their email account via a POP email client may experience problems.

A	08/16/2008 13:59:25	"Show Blocked Incoming Mail" database has been repaired and the backlog of updates is being processed. It should be available again within a couple hours (about 5pm).

A	08/15/2008 15:20:39	"Show Blocked Incoming Mail" web site is not functional due to problems stemming from the WBOB power outage. Engineers are working on the problem.

E	08/15/2008 14:46:02	LISTSERV is functional as of 2:30pm, with mail queues now catching up.
A	08/15/2008 12:44:41	The lists.umn.edu LISTSERV server is experiencing problems with email after a power outage this morning in the data center. Engineers are working on the problem.

C	08/10/2008 17:53:42	Some users are experiencing problems with email after a power outage Sunday (8/10/08) in the data center. Email servers are up, but storage issues may still affect availability of email. Engineers are working on the problem.
